My Poem

This is a poem I wrote (through many tears) the night our beloved dog HARLEY was killed, on the road outside our house.  He was a beautiful Bull Terrier / Ridgeback cross, and we loved him like a child.

In Memory of 'Harley' 15th May 95 - 4th July 97

Our boy is gone forever, he's not coming home.
Without him we feel so empty & all alone.

The best little mate anyone could find.
he will always be remembered in heart & mind.

Standing tall & proud in the back of the ute,
with his ears flying up & his face so cute.

He loved to go driving, anywhere, anytime,
to be left at home he thought was a crime.

Rolling around on the grass, chasing a ball.
He always came running when he heard us call.

Getting home from work will never be the same,
without Harley waiting, for our little game.

Spinning & twirling, making us laugh.
He hated the water, but still loved his bath.

Big and tough, and strong as an ox,
he could run like a horse, & was as cunning as a fox.

Reddish brown with a splash of white on his chest,
a real little man, he was simply the best.

Sadly our time is now up & he will surely be missed.
We will think of the good times, goodbye & God bless.

He filled our lives with Love & Joy.  He will always be our "Harley-Boy"
